A beginner method. Seven short steps take a scrambled cube to solved. Stuck at any point? The Hint button names the exact next move.
The moves
Each face is named by a letter: U Up, D Down, L Left, R Right, F Front, B Back. A letter alone turns that face clockwise. An apostrophe turns it counterclockwise, so R' is right counterclockwise. A 2 turns it twice, so R2 is right twice.
1. White cross
Start with the white center on top. Bring the four white edges up beside it so each one also matches the center on its side.
2. White corners
Turn the top so a white corner sits above its home, then repeat R' D' R D until it drops into place with white facing up. Do this for all four corners.
3. Middle layer
Find a middle edge with no yellow on it. Line its side color up under its center, then send it right with U R U' R' U' F' U F, or left with U' L' U L U F U' F'.
4. Yellow cross
With yellow on top, repeat F R U R' U' F' until the yellow edges form a cross.
5. Yellow edges
Turn the top layer until two edge colors match their centers. If the other two are swapped, hold them so they face you, then use R U R' U R U2 R' and check again.
6. Yellow corners in place
Put each yellow corner in its home position, even if it is twisted. The cycle U R U' L' U R' U' L moves three corners at a time.
7. Twist the corners
Hold a twisted corner at the front right and repeat R' D' R D until its yellow faces up. Then turn only the top layer to the next corner and repeat. The cube solves itself at the end.
